"Vessels of Light for Christ" : Blogs of the Lightship...
Believe it or not, years ago (before anyone had a computer) I had this dream about an old wooden box floating above the earth. Inside this dilapedated weather beaten old wooden box, lay a beautiful silver double edged sword with a golden handle.
Just for fun I asked Dr. Gross, my Pastor and teacher if he thought it meant any thing?
He told me the biblical interpretation of what he thought it could mean.
He told me that wood was the symbol of man, and that is why Jesus Christ was a carpenter.
Than he said that the sword was the symbol of the word of God, silver representing redemption, and the gold handle was the grip for God.
Probably, the old wood box sybolized my earthly body, hiding the gift of the sword that God had given me. Floating above the earth could mean that the word of God would go out all around the world.
I always thought that would be pretty neat to happen. About a decade later, I would finnally meet the Woman that I would Marry, and led to Christ. One day she had a vision of me in a clergy collar, shortly after her salvation. This really surprised me, because only my Pastor had ever had the same vision years before and I never told anyone about it!
The "Collar" is like the sword, in that it represents the word of God. The black suit represents a body of sin. But out of the mouth (from the throat) come the pure word of God.
On that same day, the Lord had spoken to my heart telling me that he had given me the gift of the sword (but be carefull how I use it, or I could cut myself to ribbons). Later I discoverd that if I had read my Oswald Chambers devotional that morning, that it described the gift of the "sword". That is when my future wife, told me her vision of me.
Later about a year after we were married, the Lord gave me a vision of a "Pastor's Heart" this confirmed to me once and for all the calling God has put on my life. (If you would like to read my testomony on this subject visit my "Original Web page tab"; Lightship Ministries.com).
Could blogging my stories to the world be the fulfillment of my dream about the sword?
I beleive that this could very well be.
I ran from my calling for years, not beleiving God could use somebody like me.
Like Jonah, I would nearly die in the water (twice) before I would start Lightship Ministries.
Write to me, if I could possibly help you using my insight.
God bless your path, CH. Roland Dell
