This will come as a shock to most, yet I have painfully learned about the seriousness or should I say gravity of actually abiding in Christ throughout my life in the following article.
It is natural for a child of God to try to get along with the world, and the worlds people.
Yet because you have been chosen out of the world, it is impossible to ever be accepted by the world’s people, even within one’s own family. You try very hard to be nice and friendly with folks, yet you will never be accepted by them as the large majority of the world are actually children of the devil, and you will never achieve any type of genuine fellowship with them.
John 15:18-27
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you…
We are taught to be friendly and accepting to others, and as much as leis within you, be at peace with all men – Romans 12:18, but never allow yourself to be lulled into a false sense of security, in thinking you are a part of them. Again, it is only natural to try to fit in, yet this is extremely detrimental to a child of God’s spiritual life with Christ, as compromise with the world is destructive to following the truth, who is Jesus Christ within us.
I have found that one of the biggest obstacles to walking with Christ, is the near look-alike of system religions (systematic theologies) as this is also a part of the world, which is a detraction for actually abiding in Christ oneself. Young believers will find it hard to understand such reasoning, as false brethren adopt Bible doctrines, and even “experiences of God” as their own. Yet they have never seen Him nor known Him.
1 John 3:6 No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.
(Jesus is speaking about walking in the spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit, who was yet to come).
Acceptance by the world is enmity against God, you cannot serve two masters, yet MOST who have genuinely started with Christ, take the broad road away from Him, in an effort to be comfortable in the world. To a very large degree these broad road Christians have been pressured by society (Church) to conform to loving the world and its people, over actually following Jesus Christ in spirit and in truth.
We all naturally want acceptance by the world, yet you cannot compromise which is to prostitute the Holy Spirit of God, for the Spirit of Antichrist which dominates this world and the world’s church systems. (Rev 17 – 18).
This is why it is written in 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
