When my heart stopped, I had Jesus Christ pushing “shoulder to shoulder” next to me, I could feel it and see him in a ghostly shadow. I am a great fan of Jonathan Edwards, partially because he is the only minister who I know of who teaches; when we believers are absent from the body, we are IMMEDIATELY with our Lord, as the Apostle Paul clearly described it!
Jonathan Edwards (1703-1758) Jonathan Edwards was a colonial American Congregational preacher, theologian, and missionary to Native Americans. Edwards “is widely acknowledged to be America’s most important and original philosophical theologian.”
