Evangelizing the Church in the Age of DelusionTHE GLORY…AND THE SHAME
The “Builder” Generation: Born 1901-1925.
The “Young Builder” Generation: Born 1926-1946.From 2003-2013 I had the marvelous privilege of shepherding a congregation with a significant number of folks in their seventies and eighties (and a couple in their nineties!). What a joy – a true privilege.
Allow me to now honor them here with a review of just some of the values that will forever serve as their legacy.
-WORK ETHIC: A sense of entitlement is virtually non-existent in the “Builder Generation.” I’ve never known a “Builder” to shy away from hard work!
-MANNERS: Show me a “Builder” and I’ll show you someone who is polite and respectful of both God and people.
HONESTY: This magnificent character trait is getting harder and harder to find. In fact, that’s what makes “Builders” so vulnerable, and such easy prey for liars. “A man’s word is his bond,” and “A hand shake is as good as a contract,” and “Let your yes be yes and your no, no” are the glory of the “Builder Generation.”
STEWARDSHIP: Most “Builders” are frugile. Show me somebody who paid off their mortgage in thirty years…and I’ll show you a “Builder.”
HUMILITY: I believe it’s a big part of the reason why the United States of America was so blessed with God’s grace (see 1 Peter 5:5).
MORALITY: I encountered one widow that was married for almost sixty years. One day, during casual conversation she revealed that she didn’t even know divorce was legal until she was almost fifty years old! True story!!
Language, dress, patience, sacrifice, and discipline are additional “top notch” values that I have observed and gleaned from this very special generation. In my opinion, it is nothing short of a travesty that many of these values are “dying off” with them.
I have just one word of caution for the “Builder Generation,” just one weakness that I’ve seen. Sadly though, it’s a big one.
SILENCE.* It has been said that,
“Evil flourishes because
good men and women do nothing.”And it was Dietrich Boenhoffer who declared,
“Silence in the face of evil,
is evil itself.”Today’s America is, in many ways, a completely different country than it was just fifty years ago – almost unrecognizeable to the “Builder Generation.”
And most of the reasons are very easily explained.
So here’s to the “Builder Generation,” both the glory and the shame.
*Ironically, the “Younger Builders” 1926-1946, are also literally known as the “Silent Generation.”

Dear Laissez Faire Today Reader,
Did you know that in one town in California, it’s illegal to annoy a lizard in a public park? Or that in Indiana, taking a whiff of glue is a punishable offense? But New York’s law against adultery takes the cake of silly laws still on the books. Former Gov. Eliot Spitzer probably found himself in a pickle about that one after he got caught having an affair with a high-class call girl.
Calling Adultery a silly outdated law, comparable to lizards & glue sniffing is what really takes the cake alright!
This is just one example how Christian informed values from this nation’s past, are laughed at and scoffed at as a big joke! Is it any wonder the blessings of the Creator have been removed from our society today? Faith, the recognition of sin, and sinful behaviors, is all but gone today, from a once moral western culture and society honoring Godly standard which produced once great nations. I am only 55 years of age, yet I can remember the old school value of the family and the sanctity of marriage. Why attack such laws as being silly?
That’s the easy part; to desensitizing people in the culture from their higher moral standards, allowing inferior values to flourish, so that the “most deprived amongst us” can feel equal to, and even superior to anything of the Judeo-Christian belief system. Once upon a time in our history, these cultural and moral values were commonly understood by vastly superior Western Nations and its people. This is not to say we should try and force one’s religious beliefs on another, as this is the Lord’s work alone, and is not up to men to try and force upon the unwilling. Yet it also shows the vast difference between decency and deprivation, and why a civilization hits the skids…
Silly, I really don’t think so; and history validates cultural collapse, as a result of such thinking being called antiquated.

Truth is only received by the spirit of truth, (who is Jesus Christ) all the intellectual Bible interpretation in the world, doesn’t change this fact. I write this statement because of deviant (diversion from the truth) sinful sexual activity, by people who wish to mainline their lifestyles as normal, and consistently twist the scriptural texts nowadays, to bring the righteousness of God, to a new low!
A lie, is only a twisted truth.

God created Women for the Man, to be a help meet and to nurture his family.
Satan promotes women’s equality (or superiority) to the man. Children rebel against their parents.
God created Sexual desire; a man for his wife, and a wife for her husband.
Sexual deviancy replaces that of the ordained of God; in the Marriage bed.
The tree of knowledge, (head knowledge) takes precedence over the tree of life, (which is Spiritual knowledge – only found by abiding in Jesus Christ) even when concerning sound Bible doctrines.
God’s people compromise for the love of the world, and the sake of the wicket, and allow non believers to fellowship with them – (darkness with light), and false brethren, and anti-Christ’s sneak in among them, causing spiritual death.
God’s division among peoples is replaced by Satan’s world unity.
Loving the world is more important than loving God, and moving only as he moves his people.
Men appear as Women, and Women as Men; they adore themselves with inappropriate clothing, make marks in their flesh, and even mutilate themselves.V/R, Chaplain Dell

This statement is true in the spiritual world, as well as the physical. This is why we must walk with Christ ourselves: (if we know him) and not be dependent upon a world Church system following “anti-Christ’s” (false or alternative shepherds) found in systematic theologies. We who know HIM follow him only in SPIRIT and in TRUTH. Who is Jesus Christ. The Bible is only confirmation of experiencing God, by the atonement of our Lord, in and of ourselves. It does no good to intellectually assimilate scripture, when the human spirit is dead in sin.
